Lewisville police fatally shoot a woman after fleeing traffic stop, brief chase
A car chase led to Lewisville police fatally shooting a woman with a felony warrant overnight. The Lewisville Police Department said that just after 12 a.m. Thursday, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which the driver was suspected of having a felony warrant issued by another agency. The officer confirmed the driver's identity during the stop and requested confirmation of the outstanding warrant. While that was happening, the woman drove off at a high rate of speed, LPD said. LPD said a chase then happened through multiple cities. During the chase, the woman caused a crash with an LPD patrol vehicle and continued to flee from officers. The chase eventually ended in a parking lot off I-35E in Lewisville. Police said that during the attempt to arrest the woman, she got out a gun and didn't comply with the officers' commands to drop the gun. Shots were then fired by LPD officers, striking the woman. The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she died. The police officer in the patrol vehicle wasn't injured, police said. No other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing. LPD said that per its policy, the four officers involved will be placed on administrative leave.

Colorado felons caught after trying to elude police through car wash
Four people failed to make a clean getaway last week despite driving through a car wash while being pursued by police. Officers from the Aurora Police Department arrested the four on Wednesday after the two- to three-minute chase, the department stated in a social media post. The group was in a stolen pickup truck that matched the description of a vehicle used in a recent burglary, APD stated. The truck was spotted near East Hampden Avenue and South Poplar Street. Several officers coordinated a plan to pull the truck over in a traffic stop, according to the department. But the vehicle "took off." At one point, the truck was driven through a running car wash in an attempt to shake the pursuing officers. The car wash appears to be part of the Shell Station at 7285 East Hampden Avenue. Shortly after exiting the car wash, the four people inside the truck jumped from it and tried to run from officers. All four were caught with the help of other officers from the Denver and Cherry Hills police departments, APD stated. The four - 41-year-old Guillermo Miguel Frias, 42-year-old Michael Sophia Dominguez-Alvarez, 54-year-old Richard Dion Odell, and 61-year-old Kathy Fenay Woolfolk - were taken into custody. APD stated the members of the group have prior arrests with Aurora PD for robbery, assault, kidnapping, sex offenses, drugs, prostitution, and car theft. Whether they are involved with the burglary is being investigated, but additional charges pertaining to the pursuit are expected.

Orange County pursuit ends when driver loses control, crashes after blowing tire in pickup truck
A wild pursuit through Southern California came to a sudden end on Saturday night when the driver of a pickup truck lost control and smashed into another vehicle in Norwalk. The pursuit began around 9 p.m. near the 405 and 605 Freeway interchange, which is about where Orange County and Los Angeles County meet. The California Highway Patrol said the chase was initiated by a law enforcement agency in the OC before being transferred to the CHP. The pursuit of a red pickup truck continued into L.A. County. The want was originally for weaving, the CHP said. When SKYCal located the vehicle around 9:36 p.m., the front driver-side tire was clearly blown out, as a large trail of sparks followed the speeding truck. Eventually, the driver turned onto Imperial Highway in Norwalk, where he continued driving at a high rate of speed. At about 9:37 p.m., the driver lost control and the truck spun into the back of a sedan that was waiting at a red light. The sedan's airbags clearly deployed upon collision. Two people were seen walking away from the vehicle while speaking to officers, appearing to be OK. The red truck spun onto the road's center median in the area of Imperial Highway and Studebaker Road. The driver exited through a window and began walking away from officers, but they quickly tackled him and took him into custody. It's not clear if the driver was armed during the chase. No additional details were immediately made available.

Five Western Mass. teens arrested after stolen car crashes with two others on I-91
Five Western Massachusetts teens were arrested Saturday after a car chase between police and a stolen car ended with the stolen car crashing with two others on I-91 in West Springfield, Holyoke police announced Monday. The car chase began after a Holyoke police sergeant noticed a car that had been reported stolen driving around the city with five people inside, Holyoke police said in a press release. The sergeant tried to pull over the stolen car as it went into the Holyoke Mall parking lot, but the driver accelerated and crashed through two wooden barriers around a construction zone. The stolen car continued onto I-91 south and tried to get off at an exit, but it collided with another vehicle, which led to a third vehicle being struck, police said. All five people in the stolen car ran into the woods following the crash. The sergeant checked on the people in the other two vehicles and then began searching for the suspects, police said. West Springfield police and Massachusetts State Police troopers and the State Police Air Wing responded to the scene to aid in the search. West Springfield police located all five of the suspects: an 18-year-old Chicopee man, a male 17-year-old from Holyoke, a 15-year-old Springfield girl, a 14-year-old Pittsfield girl and a 24-year-old Springfield woman, police said. They arrested the 17-year-old, 15-year-old and 14-year-old, who declined a medical evaluation, and the 18-year-old and 24-year-old were taken to Baystate Medical Center with injuries but are being charged with receiving a stolen vehicle. The investigation into the incident indicated that the 17-year-old was driving the stolen car during the car chase, police said. Holyoke police did not identify any of the suspects. 3 arrested after Hong Kong car chase uncovers drugs, weapons
Hong Kong police have arrested three men, aged between 19 and 20, after a car chase in Tsim Sha Tsui, with officers discovering drugs and weapons inside the vehicle. The force said the private car driver had refused to cooperate with traffic enforcement and control division officers when stopped at Hillwood Road, adding that he fled towards Nathan Road and crashed into a taxi at Shun Yee Street while driving in the opposite direction. 'After a verbal warning for people inside the vehicle to alight had failed, officers had drawn their guns on guard before subduing the driver and two suspects inside the car,' police said. The car was apprehended on Kimberley Road after being stopped by a police car. Officers found 41 bags of suspected cocaine, weighing around 18 grams, a small amount of suspected cannabis and two telescopic batons inside the private car. The suspected illegal drugs inside the car were worth HK$21,000 (US$2,675). The 20-year-old driver and the two other passengers, aged 19 and 20, were apprehended for allegedly possessing dangerous drugs and weapons, as well as drug trafficking. The driver was also arrested for 'causing bodily harm by furious driving' and violating the conditions of a learner's driving licence.
